I have decided ,as a test of what I have learned with UDK so far, to remake an old favorite of mine from the original Unreal Tournament. As you can see from the picture I have the basic foundations created and shall now begin construction on the opposing towers. Now I have an excuse to play a few rounds on the old map to get a feel for it.

I have drastically changed the map since my last update. The 2 main platforms have been made much larger, the 2 crossing paths were scrapped, Due to severe geometry issues caused by lack of knowledge, and rebuilt to look more like their counterparts on the original Facing Worlds map. Lastly I have added the main Structures which will house the Flags and portals to the upper levels which are currently under construction.
Please wear a hardhat while near these sections of the building.

I have constructed the 2 towers and placed materials on them both.
I have also added an asteroid that orbits the level. Currently working on a red sun now. I will also be adding the 2 "floors" and roof to both towers next.

One last update before I crawl into bed.
Nothing new with the towers themselves. I'v been fiddling with the dominant lighting and settled on a style I like. I have, in absence of a "space with earth" background or the knowledge to make my own skydomes yet, Have made a background of my own. This dying sun looms behind the darker of the two towers and it spins, has dynamic bloom and is generally entrancing to watch.
Also I now have an asteroid orbiting the level.

I have added quite a lot of detail to both towers such as balcony's, sniper spot on the roof and teleporters. On the "Blue tower" I have added more detail such as the side struts of the tower, beacon lights at the top and minor aesthetic details.
I am currently having an issue involving the A.I not being able to go through teleporters or spawn more than 2, both of which are on the enemy team. I will be looking into these issues and will post again once I have found a solution.

VCTF-Face_Remake_Complete

As of today I am declaring VCTF-Face_remake a finished product.
I have adjusted my bot pathing to avoid any issues that I can and I have yet to learn how to make weapons from scratch, so no sniper rifle yet, and I have only one finishing touch to add, the original music from the original level.
Overall I am pleased with how this turned out as I set out to remake an old favourite and still managed to give it my own touch in the process.
I am now moving on to work with Unity, so i'll be bogged down in tutorials for a while before i have anything to report, and will attempt to make a game from scratch. If anyone out there would like to know where I get my tutorials dont hesitate to ask in the pensieve.
